Original pieces written by a piano teacher of over 20 years, aligned to the AMEB syllabus from Preliminary through Grade 6 - built to keep students playing (and loving it) between exams.
If you're a piano teacher hunting for something to fill the gap between graded exams, or a parent watching your kid's motivation fade into scales and drills - this is the resource you've been improvising without. Blues, ragtime, jigs, bossa novas, and duets your students will actually want to play again.
Tracy is an experienced musician, composer and music educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in Australian public schools. A graduate of the Conservatorium High School, she has performed with a variety of ensembles and bands, composed music for school bands, orchestras, festivals and five Tropfest short films, and created innovative music programs used in schools across Australia. She also founded Symphonia Jubilate, a community orchestra now with over 120 members. Drawing on her extensive experience teaching piano, Tracy has created a collection of engaging piano pieces from Preliminary to Grade 6, designed to give students enjoyable repertoire to play between exams, build confidence and, most importantly, rediscover the joy of playing.
Blues and ragtime, jigs, bossa novas and more - several with piano duets built in, so playing doesn't have to be a solo activity.
Note-naming adventure stories starring Abe the Budgie - a running character that turns theory drills into a story kids want to finish.
Musical crosswords, technique exercises, and creative activities that build confidence beyond the printed notes.
Mapped to the technical and stylistic outcomes of the AMEB syllabus, Preliminary through Grade 6.
A YouTube link under every grade's pieces, so students can hear exactly how each one should sound.
Built-in glossary and short lessons woven through the book - a full teaching resource, not just a songbook.
Hands on the keys, sheet music on screen - a preview from the Grade 6 book, so you can hear and see exactly what your student will be playing.
"These pieces closely align with the technical and stylistic learning outcomes from the AMEB Piano syllabi... a welcome resource which can be used to further develop technical skills, as well as sight reading fluency, and of course build repertoire."
